Flu Shots - Fall 2020
Flu shots this year will be by appointment only. In order to reduce call volume and make the check in process as easy as possible, we are asking patients to book their flu appointments via MyChart. If you have not yet signed up for MyChart, please visit the MyChart page of our website for instructions on how to register.
As we have done in the past, if your child already has an upcoming well visit, the flu vaccine will be given at that appointment.
We will only carry the flu shot in our office this year. We will not be giving flu mist (the nasal spray).
Due to the pandemic and our need to maintain social distancing in the office, our flu clinics will be limited in size this year. We continue to encourage all of our patients to consider getting your flu vaccine at a local pharmacy or minute clinic. Patients 9 and older can receive vaccinations at the pharmacy. In most cases, patients 18 months and older can receive vaccinations at MinuteClinic. Please ask the clinic to send a copy of your flu shot to our office.
Our flu clinics are being held inside our office at this time. We do not have any drive up clinics planned at this time.
*Please complete your MyChart flu questionnaires prior to arriving for your appointment*
Once you have arrived for your flu shot appointment, please text our office from your car and we will let you know when you can approach the front door. Please wear a mask.

Obtaining documentation of your flu shot
If you received your flu shot at Post Road Pediatrics, you can print a copy of your immunization record directly from MyChart (which will display your flu shot). Visit the health section of MyChart and click on immunizations to view the report (click this link for a screenshot). If you want to create a pdf copy of this document, click the printer icon, and then change your printer to "Adobe pdf".
Flu Vaccine Requirement
The Massachusetts department of public health has issued a new influenza vaccine requirement for all children 6 months of age and older attending childcare/preschool, students in all grades of school from Kindergarten through Grade 12, and students of post-secondary institutions. Please see the press release here. All children within this group are required to have received their flu vaccine by December 31, 2020.
