4th of July weekend hours - FYI, our hours tomorrow are 9:00 to 12:00; our triage nurse will be taking calls starting at 8:30. We also have no walk-in time tomorrow. Given the holiday weekend, we are closed both Saturday and Sunday, but one of our physicians is on call, as usual. Our regular hours of operation resume on Monday.
Two other items:
1) Check-up scheduling - we are now able to book a year ahead, so scheduling checkups well in advance is now possible.
2) Convenience care clinics - the development of alternate sites of care, like Minute Clinics, and MD Express, has certainly been useful to our patients. Please be aware, however, that our experience has been that while simple things, like rapid strep testing off-hours, are reasonable expectations of these clinics, more complicated issues, or children or teens with more complicated medical histories, should be seen in our office. We feel that we provide much better care, and that we know you and your children better, than any convenience clinic. Plus, we'll help coordinate any testing or follow-up that is needed; the convenience care clinics will merely refer you back to us.
If you are uncertain about an issue, and aren't concerned that there might be a dire emergency, but need medical advice, please call us or page us, if off-hours. That's why we're here; we want to hear from you.
Happy 4th of July.
